Boy, 15, shot and stabbed in his own home in East London

Detectives have appealed for information after a 15-year-old boy was shot and stabbed in his Plaistow home by a gang of masked attackers.

The incident, revealed by Scotland Yard this morning, happened shortly before 3am last Friday, November 22. Police were called after a family was woken up by five male suspects who had forced their way into their home in Grange Road.

The men were armed with knives and a firearm and were all wearing balaclavas.

Once inside, they stabbed the 15-year-old boy and also shot him in the leg. He was taken to hospital where his condition remains serious but not life-threatening.

A Scotland Yard spokesman said the boy has no gang links and is not believed to be involved in crime.

Trident Gang Crime Command are investigating the incident.

Anybody with information should contact police on 101 or phone Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.

Police patrols have been increased in the area in order to provide reassurance to the local community, added the spokesman. No arrests have been made at this stage of the investigation.
