Lift off for charity’s Easter appeal – and how you can help

Charity Ambition, Aspire, Achieve launched its sixth annual Easter Appeal to spread a little joy to youngsters on Monday (March 14).

The appeal was launched by actor, comedian and writer Ricky Grover at the charity’s base at the Terence Brown Arc in the Park in Canning Town.

Ricky, a patron of Ambition, Aspire Achieve (AAA), said: “I’m proud to support AAA  and help launch the Easter appeal this year, at a time when it’s needed more than ever. Please give generously and support the cause. Let’s make sure we help many kids as possible, making this Easter special for them.”

AAA’s Chief Executive Jonny Boux said: “We are hugely grateful to Ricky for joining us to launch the campaign, renamed as the Kevin Jenkins OBE Easter Appeal this year in honour of its founder.

“As much support as possible is needed this year, with so many children and families continuing to feel the impact of the unprecedented events of the past year and a half. Without the support of the appeal, they would not receive an egg at Easter – something that others would take for granted.”

Paula Blake, Appeal Co-ordinator, for AAA said: “The appeal is aiming to support at least 2,000 vulnerable children this year, with a donation of an Easter Egg to enjoy on Easter Sunday. Those receiving our support need it the most and experience hardship and many challenges on a daily basis. Please get involved if you can – any help is truly appreciated.”

Kind hearted bikers are doing their bit for the appeal, supported by the Newham Recorder.

John Pryke from Riders Who Want to Make a Difference and Triumph East London are joining forces to mount a bike run from Romford to Arc In the Park on April 2 to deliver as many eggs as possible.

And John Ratomski of Irons Supporting Food Banks will be taking part in a sponsored 17 mile walk next Saturday March 19, from the Bobby Moore Wembley statue to the London Stadium statue in Stratford to raise money for Easter Eggs to support the appeal.
