Summer village fete – in memory of a special man

Campaigning Newham charity Community Links are to hold a special village fete in memory of one of their most valued supporters.

Links are staging the  End of Summer Village Fete on Bank Holiday Monday August 25  between 1 and 4pm at the Debden Campsite, at the rear of Debden House in Debden Green.links logo

All the classic village fair attractions will be present including tombola, face-painting, sideshows, refreshments, bric-a-brac, bouncers, book stall, cake stall, jewellery stall, pedal karts, giant raffle and much more.

Admission to the event is free, but all money raised on the day will go to the vital work of Community Links, based in Barking Road, Canning Town.

The day is in memory of Mike Hogan, a former Trustee and a strong supporter of Community Links work for over 30 years. Mike, 62, was a former chair of Links.

Kevin Jenkins, Links co-founder and senior advisor, is organising the event with Mike’s three children and mother.  About 25 or so former Links employees or volunteers will be helping on the day.
